Indonesia
With more than 17000 islands no wonder Indonesia is a big country. It is also one of the most populated countries in the world. I landed in this vast piece of paradise on September the 22nd, 2018. After having spent the previous eleven months in Australia (doing my Work & Holiday visa) I felt both excited and happy when, a couple of days ago, I decided to choose this beautiful country as the starting point of my 3-month solo trip. I had 30 days in Indonesia ahead of me and I couldn’t wait for it!
During my month in Indonesia, I was lucky enough to spend 10 days in Bali, where I visited Ubud and all 3 Nusas. I also went to dive in Tulamben, where I got my Advanced Open Water. I took a bus and arrived in Java, where I visited Yogyakarta and its temples and climbed Mount Ijen and Mount Bromo.
From Java I took a flight to Sumatra because I wanted to look for orangutans in the jungle. To that extent I spent 2D1N in the jungle of Ketambe. After enjoying such a unique experience, I took a bus to Banda Aceh and from there I made it to Pulau Weh, where I spent some days diving. The final part of my adventure in Indonesia took place in Komodo National Park, where I saw the Komodo Dragon and had the best dive of my life.
People were nice, the food was good and the landscapes were stunning.
Are you ready to visit Indonesia? 🙂
2 days in Ubud
On the way to Ubud Before arriving, I didn’t know I was going to spend 2 days in Ubud. I guess that’s one of the good things about travelling with the flow. You arrive to a place and depending on how much you like it you decide for how long
What’s to see from Ubud to Amed?
On the way to Amed After my first two days in Ubud, I drove my moto all the way to Amed. There was an easier and more straight route which I didn’t take because I wanted to check some places on the way. What’s to see from Ubud to Amed?
Stay in Amed, dive in Tulamben
Arriving in Amed As you might remembered, I had just left Tirta Gangga and I was on my way to Amed. The sun was going to be setting soon and I wanted to make it to my hostel before it was already dark. As you might also remembered, after considering
2 days in Nusa Penida
I woke up early the morning of September the 27th, 2018, still with the excitement and joy of having become an Advanced Open Water diver. During my 3 days between Amed and Tulamben things had gone pretty well and I was just getting ready to drive to my next destination.
Nusa Lembongan and Ceningan
After my 2 days in Nusa Penida enjoying the landscapes and surviving the highways to hell, I felt like I still wanted more. To that extend, because I still had one more night booked at Hostel Nusa Penida and I also had my moto for one more day, I decided
From Kuta to Kawah Ijen
I left Hostel Nusa Penida early the morning of September the 30th, 2018. After having spent 3 days on the Nusa Islands (2 days in Nusa Penida and 1 day between Nusa Lembongan and Ceningan) I would be getting back to Bali. The boat back to Padangbai (Bali) was leaving
