Indonesia
With more than 17000 islands no wonder Indonesia is a big country. It is also one of the most populated countries in the world. I landed in this vast piece of paradise on September the 22nd, 2018. After having spent the previous eleven months in Australia (doing my Work & Holiday visa) I felt both excited and happy when, a couple of days ago, I decided to choose this beautiful country as the starting point of my 3-month solo trip. I had 30 days in Indonesia ahead of me and I couldn’t wait for it!
During my month in Indonesia, I was lucky enough to spend 10 days in Bali, where I visited Ubud and all 3 Nusas. I also went to dive in Tulamben, where I got my Advanced Open Water. I took a bus and arrived in Java, where I visited Yogyakarta and its temples and climbed Mount Ijen and Mount Bromo.
From Java I took a flight to Sumatra because I wanted to look for orangutans in the jungle. To that extent I spent 2D1N in the jungle of Ketambe. After enjoying such a unique experience, I took a bus to Banda Aceh and from there I made it to Pulau Weh, where I spent some days diving. The final part of my adventure in Indonesia took place in Komodo National Park, where I saw the Komodo Dragon and had the best dive of my life.
People were nice, the food was good and the landscapes were stunning.
Are you ready to visit Indonesia? 🙂

2D1N trek in the jungle of Ketambe
I woke up at 08:00 the morning of October the 9th, 2018, after a weird night of sleep. I was tired after having spent a journey travelling from Yogyakarta to Ketambe but, the excitement and the situation made it kind of hard for me to sleep. It was my first

From Ketambe to Pulau Weh
As you might remember, I had just made it back to Leuser Guesthouse after my incredible 2D1N trek in the jungle of Ketambe. During my time in the jungle, and even before going to Ketambe, I started to think about my next destination. Basically, I decided that after the jungle

3 days in Pulau Weh
As you might remember, I decided to travel all the way from Ketambe to Pulau Weh. Due to a delay though, I arrived at Ulee Lheue Ferry Port too late. The last ferry had already left and I had to spend the night in Banda Aceh. After pondering my sleeping

Diving in Komodo National Park
As you might remember, I had just said good bye to Dian and I was getting ready for my third time sleeping at an airport. Like usually, I didn’t sleep much, but it was enough to get me going. My trip was coming to an end. After Bali, Java and

2D1N tour in Komodo National Park
As you might remember, I had come back to Labuan Bajo after going diving in Komodo National Park. I spent a whole day with the Somer Dive crew and other lucky passengers. The dives at Batu Bolong, Tatawa Kecil and specially at Manta Point were pretty astonishing. So much that,

So long Indonesia!
I woke up the morning of October the 20th, 2018, knowing that my time was up. Sooner than later I would be saying “So long Indonesia!” and, just like that, I would be leaving such a beautiful country. Andreina had also her flight to Denpasar the same day, but just
